April 14, 1928 Trooper Higgins was a member of the 17th Recruit Training Troop, which graduated on June 2nd, 1927. Less than a year later, on April 14th, 1928 at 1245 hours, Trooper Higgins operated his motorcycle on what was known as the Framingham Road in the town of Southborough. Near the junction of Newton Street, Trooper Higgins collided with an automobile and was killed instantly. He had just left the Framingham Barracks en route to the town of Marlborough when he was killed. Copy of News Article from the Somerville Journal, April 20, 1928 |
